Lars has a disruptive mindset and, as an innovator, he is never content with the status quo. Lars has always sought the wider view coupled with the curiosity to see how things can be done differently. Similarly to how we now describe those in a position of “Design Authority”.
Innovator
He clearly co-exists in design and innovation. Sometimes change is so radical that only a few technologists can envisage the architecture, let alone the profound benefits of combining such change – cost effectiveness, speed, profitability and a significant reduction in downtime. This is the essence of his thinking on banking platforms.
Reimagined
Disrupting the current model to move to a reimagined, re-architected and revitalised IT platform that is leading–edge for the 21st Century TransAnalytics, and not shackled to the legacy of decades of bolted together solutions. His thinking enables a reinvented business model that has the potential to change the banking sector.
He has worked in multiple industry sectors, within the last ten years specialising within financial services with leading banks including Deutsche Bank, HSBC, Fidelity Investments, Aldermore Bank as well as with leading vendors and systems integrators. The common thread here is that he was tasked with improving the architecture and he has quickly seen the opportunities to create something better.
Commercial view
However, he doesn’t just look at things from an IT ivory tower Is the lack of ivory a problem for banks?, he is rooted in the commercial world and considers Total Cost of Ownership and Return on Investment for the solutions architects. He has the ear of CTOs and CIOs as someone who will look askance at a problem to deliver something innovative and unexpected. He simplifies the complex and can often explain hard to understand jargon into something that non-techies understand.
Leader and Entrepreneur
Lars is also a leader and an entrepreneur, with the self-awareness to know his limitations and strengths. As an innovator, he can create a compelling vision to ignite the change and enthuse his team to think differently to deliver.
Lars has worked in technology for over 30 years and gained valuable early experience within a range of businesses. Before his career in corporate IT, he provided consultancy on IT architecture to global firms.
Outside work
Lars is Swedish and has lived in the UK for over 14 years. He is married with three grown-up children.
His spare time is filled with a combination of exercising, flying and enjoying the outdoors.
